I figured it out. I had to tweak some settings in about:config

mousewheel.horizscroll.withnokey.action needed to be reset to 0. Do you think this is a bug in the program or in one of the extensions I installed? (Note: I uninstalled all the extensions and the problem remained, but that doesn't mean an extension didn't reset the vaule when it was installed.)

You say this is a new feature in 1.5, but it certainly explains some weird behavior I'm getting with 1.0.7.

I'm finding that I'm getting "false input" that is causing my browser to jump back to previous pages or forward to a page that I've already backed out of.

I think that part of this is due to a feature of my new powerbook. Scrolling with the trackpad. If I use two fingers instead of one on the trackpad, the cursor does not move, whatever window the cursor is on scrolls. It's a neat feature, and I took to it right away.

However, over the week or so, this problem has cropped up in Firefox.

Here are the extensions I am using:

Google Toolbar
Faster Fox
Foxytunes
Mozilla Calendar
MenuX
RiteofTongue
Greasemonkey
Webdeveloper
Wikipedia

I am running OS X 10.4.3 on a 12" Powerbook, 1.5 Ghz, 768 M RAM, 100 GB HD.

Any idea what the problem could be? Do you know if any of these extensions or combination of extensions is the culprit?

Thanks,

Mark
