If someone were to get the message out to all of the almost 90% of Internet users still using Internet Explorer, that there is a "better breed", a more reliable, more secure browser, would everyone flock to get their hands on it? Not all of them. For many, trying out new software is a daunting task. With all the new features, usually comes something completely new to learn. Thankfully, this is not so much so with Firefox.

My mother is a wonderfully smart person, but also a little challenged by computers. So far she doesn't even seem to have noticed that her default browser, and the icon on her desktop actually point to Firefox now, instead of IE. But she also hasn't noticed tabs, and other awesome features that Firefox has to offer. While most users should have no trouble at all switching to Firefox, after having used IE since "forever", they may not realize all the features Firefox has to offer. Here to help introduce new users to Firefox, is Firemonger!

Firemonger Logo

Firemonger is the all-in-one starter guide for Firefox and Thunderbird, Mozilla's free e-mail client. Inside you'll find an introduction to the basic features of both programs, as well as an assortment of Themes, Extensions and Plugins (such as Macromedia Flash Player). Also included are utilities to fine-tune Firefox to your computer, and also to backup profiles, in case something bad ever happens!

If you're not yet using Firefox as your default browser, or even if you are and you want to learn about some features and extensions you may have missed out on, Firemonger is a great package to try. If you're a pro at Firefox and already know that stuff, you should be spreading Firefox! Firemonger makes it easy to distribute their package, by providing an ISO image for burning to a cd. Now you can get all your friends to try Firefox and Thunderbird, without having to give them the run-down on them.
